Australian TV sucks, its just a fact. it's not because of the content which it most of the time quite good. Its the fact that we have to wait at least 4 weeks to sometimes almost a year before content comes available in Australia. This is a really sad state we are in. I love TV shows and there is just no diversity in Australia. i have actually gone to downloading TV shows because otherwise i may not see them anyway else. now I'm not saying this is the right thing to do, but this is what our society has come to.
I have seen a recurring trend directed and Australia and well any country that is not America that we have to pay more and wait longer before we can get the latest gadgets, media or technologies.
here is a little fun fact for you, did you know that when windows 7 was first released it was $200 more that the U.S version. And even now there is still a massive difference between in the price for a piece of software that is exactly the same.
The issue is that there isn't enough Australian industry to keep prices low. we have companies the have monopoly over entire areas of industry. For example at the moment Telstra has monopoly of internet and land line phones. Woolworth and Cole both have monopoly over the food industry and we have seen numerous times how these companies kill off smaller companies so that they can keep their profit margins high.
Back to TV shows i think a effort should be made to bring global equality. There is no reason why we should have these delays and obsurd price when we have reached the 21 century and a global economy.

In Plain Sight
In plain sight was a new one for me, I haven't really watched this type of genre before and to begin with I found it quite difficult to watch. It had nothing to do with being a crap show. It was more to do with the main character Mary who as I've said before was cold and very work focused. But it wasn't until about the tenth episode in the first season that I got to understand what the character was going through. I don't really want to wreck the surprise of watching this show so I won't get into the details, but the basis jist is about a woman named Mary who works as a Witness Protection Agent for the U.S Marshals, the other side of her life is a bit darker where she lives with a Alcoholic Mother and a Stubborn sister along with a boyfriend who she never gets to see.
I have found this show to be interesting and thought provoking. Her Partner Marshal is full of random facts and is quite a funny yet serious character. They both make a great combo team and the show has some interesting story arks. I would recommend this to people that love a tough love cop, and like the emotion of a tough life in a tough job, along with leaving something to think about when the episode has finished.

Welcome
welcome to all those that are viewing this site. My name is Alex and I'm a fan and reviewer of TV shows. i enjoy almost all scripted TV shows, though more in the science fiction and alternative crime fighting like Castle and Bone though more recently In Plain Sight and White Collar. It is my personal belief that in the world that we live in we have no patience to get into TV shows, to learn to love them. Recently i started watching In Plain Sight, the first ten episodes i wasn't overly fond of. I found the Main character Mary overbearing and depressing. But once i got why she was and what motivated her i really got into the show.
That is how i review my shows, i will not review them without watching them and without watching at least ten episodes to a full season. TV is about the expression of life, of what it has been, what it is and what it could be we can not deny them that and the opportunity to give us something to think about no matter how insignificant.

outcasts
i find it really sad the instant gratificational world that we live in these day. i recently started watching a new show called Outcasts about a select few survivors from a earth that had gone to hell. i had a interesting story line, the actors were good. the good guys wernt just the good guys and the bad guys pretended to be the good guys, i think the dynamic of the show was great.
but unfortunelty in the world we live in it seem that u have 5 episodes to make your stance and if you don't then thats the end of the show. i think they deserved to invest the time to get the audience to get into a show like this. this show was was science fiction means, this is why we watch it. but i think with this instant gratification era that we live in is dragging the film industry into the ground.
before this show even started there were people on the forums of IMDB absolutly thrashing at the show. saying that it was just more BBC proaganda, that it was the worst show that had ever come out. i dissagree how can you subject that sort of critisism when you have no basis to base your views off. Outcast was cancelled after eight episodes, thats not ever enough to get a feel for the story. thank you to all those that drowned this show, once again you have showed that you just don't care, and you wonder why there is so much bad television on tv these days

price of cinemas
have you seen the price of cinemas in Australia lately. the cost for a so called 3D movie ticket is $21. $22 if you need glasses. I'm not one normally to complain about prices. i know how much it costs to make something. but charging close to the price you pay for the DVD is grossly over priced to see a movie once on how ever big the screen might be or how ever good sound you may hear does not justify the price. the average of a ticket in America is $7.50. that's a $14.50 difference, the only main thing that is different is the fact the Australia has to pay copyrights because it's overseas.
What surprises me is the fact that film makers are suing people who illegally download a movie on the internet. when they are making the problem in the first place. the problem is not the that people want to just get films for free. its that most people do not have the sort of money to pay for and average family of two adults and two children. i think there needs to be a major restructuring in the business structure of the film industry so that it is just not for the rich and well of by for all people everywhere that can enjoy the creativity of the human mind.
